Simple analysis of stress on pelvic muscle while riding a bicycle.






We all have ridden a bicycle in some part of our life. If you have done it after a long gap, you may have experienced some pain in the pelvic muscle. After last cycling tour to Nagarkot, I did some analysis to find the stress on the seats of bicycle while cycling. The analysis was done in staad.pro. The analysis file is given below. The analysis is crude and even do not consider pretension force on the spokes.



The result shows that the pain is critical just below the seat where the load is transferred to the frame of bicycle. With mass of 70kg (applied by dividing it to the nodes of seat and the handles) the maximum stress was about 4Mpa. This stress was enough to give pain in the ass! ;)

Best thing about civil engineering

Recently i read a post somewhere in computer coding forum by some computer engineer. It read as follows:

This is purely under estimated comment.Stupid people like him is creating some stupid softwares without puting his brain on use or knowing what the equation means in real life. And still they think they are really smart.


Lets see where he will not find a civil engineer or an architect..


the house he lives is designed by the architect and enforced by civil engineer .


the water he drinks will come from a soruce far away using system of channels, pipes, crossings..civil engnieer is supposed to get him that water even in draught!


the electriciy which he utilizes comes from the dam built by civil engineer and transmission line errected by civil engineers..


the road and bridges which he uses to go his home and office is built by civil engineers


the airport which he uses to fly his plane is built by civil engineers


the waste he generates in his lifetime is dispossed in secure way by civil engineers


the food he eats gets nutured from the water diverted by a civil engineer.




By copying and pasting the code you can easily be a computer engineer. F*** off. We know how to do our works.


Do you know how computers are used by civil engineer to put stupid people like you in comfort?


They use it to design the nuclear plant.


They use it to make dams and bridges.


They use it to design your gas pipes.


They use it to get answer of those things which you will never understand..


They use it to design the factories where your clothes are woven ..( wont you be shameful!)


I am and will be a civil engineer.


And if still you think you are clearver,


Do you know how high is your street light?


Do you know how many seconds red light glows in zebra crossing?


Do you know why your house do not break even by earthquake?

Cracking excel VBA password

To remove VBA password in Excel document use following steps. The steps are really simple and you can remove the password in no time.Backup the xls file first!



  1. Using a HEX editor, locate the DPB=... part

  2. Change the DPB=... string to DPx=...

  3. Open the xls file in Excel

  4. Excel discovers an invalid key (DPx) and asks whether you want to continue loading the project (basically ignoring the protection)

  5. Open the VBA editor (ALT+F11)

  6. Overwrite the password, so change it to something you can remember

  7. Save the xls file

  8. Close and reopen the document and work your VBA magic!

GRP pipe malfunctions

Here are some photos of the bursted GRP pipe which was filled with about 2m overburden soil.




The penstock data are:


Head =115m


Discharge =3.2 m3/s


Length =2400m


The main reason for the burst was the movement of pipe alignment due to landslide.
